The WLY MAMMOTH...

What is it?

The WLY Mammoth (pronounced Wooly) is the latest creation here at Mammoth Overland. Built with the same shell as our original HV trailer, our engineering team developed a Mammoth fit for the cold harsh temps. 

But what does that look like?

Well this Mammoth is lined with wool insulation inside the cabin, resulting in not only a higher R value (R12) but a more comfortable, warm fabric to brush in the cold of night.  No more bumping into cold aluminum walls and feeling a chill.
The WLY Mammoth also features the The Truma VarioHeat. 
Wait, that’s not the classic Dickinson marine heater both HV and ELE trailers have? Correct! 
While the Mammoth team loves the feel and the efficiency of the enclosed fireplace it was time for something that may be more suitable for an arctic edition trailer.
The Truma VarioHeat is a propane powered mobile forced air heating system. The unit is a 11500 BTU/hr which is approximately the power required to heat a 600sqft house. The Mammoth cabin is NOT a 600sqft house! When this power is used in the monocoque insulated shell of the Mammoth, the temperature is quickly and quietly adjusted. The selectable airflow speed allows the unit to rapidly correct for temperature swings yet remain quiet during nighttime operation. The control module located by the door gives the user complete control of their temperature and flow preferences. Time to set your Truma VarioHeat to your desired temp for the day and hit the snow knowing you’ll come back to a warm insulated trailer.

Other WLY Bells and Whistles?

Good question! Equipped with all the standard HV features (Timbren 3500HD independent suspension, electric brakes, rock sliders, king size mattress, fully equipped kitchen, modular roof rack etc..) WLY also has some neat features such as dual 400ah self heating lithium batteries allowing for a 800ah battery bank you can charge in cold temperatures.
Some additional new features on WLY is the roof rack light system as well as a light bar allowing you to light up camp more than ever before!
WLY also features new molle panel designs that allow for mounting all kinds of winter gear such as skis, snows shoes and snowboards. The things you would expect from an arctic trailer!

Snow and Surf

A feature rolling over from our ELE model to the WLY Mammoth is the Dometic RTX 2000. This unit features turbo cooling operating mode for quick cooling and is suitable for ambient temperatures of 41 °F to 126 °F. 
These cooling features and the intense insulation of WLY allow the cabin to not only maintain heat on chilly days but also can keep the cabin cool in the heat. This is a trailer that is ready for the snow and for the surf! 
The best part about the RTX 2000? It won’t break the battery bank! This unit is highly efficient with up to 12 hours of running time and is highly efficient: only 19A power consumption in Eco mode. Of course even if you need a little extra juice for your 800ah battery bank WLY comes with dual portable 100W solar panels and a generator!
